The Department of Homeland Security's Threat Evaluation and Reporting Overview (TERO) course is a 3-hour training on recognizing risk factors, triggers, stressors, and warning behaviors that may lead to targeted violence, including mass attacks. It also includes information on mitigating or protective factors that can reduce risk and help someone off-ramp from a pathway to violence. The target audience is law enforcement, mental health providers, school administrators, houses of worship, business leaders, and others who may be interested in learning more about preventing targeted violence.
